The Hearth Foundation
The Hearth Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting home based spiritual practice through
information sharing and community building. Hearth Foundation was established in the summer of 2006. It was a gift
from Irving Kramer, a corporate attorney specializing in non-profits, to his daughter Jacqueline. We are committed to
support the creation of a kinder, more mindful world by quietly expanding love and wisdom one household at a time. We
offer online lay Buddhist practice classes, a list of conscious parenting and homemaking resources, a place to connect
with other like minded parents and a monthly newsletter. Although the orientation of the classes is Buddhist, we honor
all Wisdom traditions.
                                     Jacqueline Kramer
Jacqueline Kramer is the director of the Hearth Foundation. She has been studying and practicing Theravadin Buddhism for 30
years, is a Religious Science Practitioner and student of the world’s wisdom traditions.  In 2007 Jacqueline received the
"Outstanding Women in Buddhism Award" for her work teaching Buddhism to mothers around the world.  Her root teacher was
Annagarika Dhamma Dinna who taught in the Sri Lankan tradition. She also studied with Ven. Ananda Maitreya, Achan Sobin
Namto, Ven. Punnaji Mahathera and Ayya Khema.  Her work with mothering and homemaking came out of an insight she had one
afternoon while out in her back yard.  As she looked into the eyes of the neighbor's cow she had an experience of unity and love
for the planet and the desire to help protect the planet for her newborn daughter and all other beings.  She realized this was her
life’s purpose.  Jacqueline writes our weekly newsletter, books on mothering as a spiritual practice and has created online lay
Buddhist practice classes which she offers, as is the Buddhist tradition, at no cost.  She is a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister
and friend.

reading
Buddha Mom was a life altering experience.  Heather was a member of the first class Jacqueline offered and has remained at
the Hearth Foundation to help others on their path and to try to give back to the teacher and the sangha that has given her so many
blessings.  She currently lives in C
olorado with her loving husband and child.  Heather left her business career eight years ago to
raise and homeschool their wonderful son and finds joy in each day.

Destiny Masters
Destiny handles community outreach for the Hearth Foundation and enjoys actively spreading the word about Hearth and all its
benefits. A practicing Buddhist in the Tibetan tradition for over 3 years, Destiny has always embraced a spiritual path.  A mother of
five, with three still at home, she understands the importance of spirituality in parenting and the challenges most parents face in fitting
their spiritual practice into their parenting ‘schedules’.  She is a strong believer in “paying it forward”.  Destiny volunteers with a local
children’s advocacy group and owns a very small business, creating and selling natural and organic soaps, cleaners and makeup.
